This story happened in September, and was the inspiration for this blog. Hundreds of people do the right thing everyday but you don’t hear of it unless a tragedy was involved. Well….here is my story and I hope you enjoy it!

I was at an office building waiting to see an account manager and had to wait in a crowded lobby. I saw an open chair by a woman who didn’t seem very pleasant at first…but I figured she had a lot on her mind, so I began to watch the lobby television in between writing random thoughts in my journal.

Something was announced on the news that got both our attention and I made a comment out loud and she agreed; then began to talk to one another. She began to tell me how long she had been waiting there, and that a neighbor was watching her three kids while she was attending to business, but really needed to get back home soon. She also began to tell me about the horrible landlord that she was dealing with who wanting to put she and her three children out on the street after just being in the new place for three days. She began to cry and state that she hardly had gas to make it to the office and wasn’t sure if she would make it home…but she needed to be there to try to get some help.

I began to ask her questions about the landlord and process, and gave her simple advice as to what he could and could not do (I worked in that industry for a long time). That seemed to put her at ease a little. But I knew her pain because I was a single mother of three before. Although we were both speaking to each other back and forth, I could not help but focus on the fact that she may run out of gas on her way home to her children, but before I could do anything both she and I were called to our appointments.

All through my appointment I must admit that I hardly paid attention to much of the things that were being said to me, for I was so focused on finding that woman that I was just speaking to. So at the end of the appointment, I hurried back to the lobby to see if she was still there and my heart dropped for a moment because I didn’t see her. Then, the crowds parted and there she was, sitting in the corner waiting for see someone else I imagined. So I went up to her and said, ” I hope you don’t mind, but I was thinking about you the whole time during my appointment, and I remember what it was like to be a single mother with no support. Would you mind if I gave you $10 for gas to get you home?” – (I only had $15 til next payday…but I thought…at least I have a payday to look forward to). With the gas prices being so high…I had wished I could have given more, but I felt that would at least get her home.

She began to cry and said thank you….and my eyes began to water. She told me that she would love to give my daughter a hairstyle for free and gave me her number and we hugged. I haven’t called….but would like to just find out how she is doing. I just think I was at the right place at the right because the universe wanted me there to help her. I pray for her and her family everyday and wish them much peace and success.

This blog is dedicated to all of the people out there that continue to make a difference through their kindness and generousity. It has always been said that negativity is contagious….well so it positivity, and I am out to prove just that by having wonderful beings such as yourself, post all of your good deeds right here! With our nation in the state that it’s in, we NEED more wonderful people to step forward and continue to make a difference, one good deed at a time!

Let’s see just how many people out there are going un-noticed for their good deeds due to the always, negative headlines! It’s time to make a difference all around….so let’s get it started right here.

If you fed someone; helped someone across the street; volunteered at a chartity; mentored someone; adopted a child; helped a homeless person or family; donated clothes, food, etc…..it doesn’t matter! If it was a good deed…it needs to be noticed so post your good deed here!

I’d like to personally thank each and every one of you for stepping up, and wanting to make a difference in someone’s life and our world. May you have many blessings and peace in your life.

Peace & Blessings

Kimberly
